Coconut Milk for Hair and Skin

Coconut grates or its milk is an ingredient in every recipe you serve, at least it makes a part of garnishing. There are hardly few Indian recipes where you find the absence of coconut. That too in south of Karnataka where you find the coconut gardens in every home, people use it as a substitute of lentils (dal).

Now I am not in a point of discussing how tasty the coconut recipes are and the calories it provides, instead how the coconut milk provides the best beauty treatment for both hair and skin.

Coconut Milk

Preparation of Coconut milk:

Grind the coconut grates with water and filter out the Milk. Throw away the coconut waste. You can even store this coconut milk in refrigeration for 2 days.

Coconut Milk for skin:

Applying coconut milk for face , neck and all over your body before bath for 10minutes is a great moisturiser.  How much ever the winter is harsh you will not require any body lotions throughout the day.

Coconut milk mixed with a pinch of turmeric helps you wipe out pimples and also scars. The skin maintains to be smoother and young.

Coconut milk with honey and lemon juice forms a face pack for all skin types.  Leave it to dry for 10 to 15 minutes; you will have no drying or tightening of skin.

Coconut Milk for Hair:

Coconut Milk is a best alternate for hair oils. Dip a piece of cotton into the milk and rub the entire scalp with it. Dip as and when required and massage your hair for half an hour. Wash your hair with warm water using a mild cleanser.
This reduces hair fall and you will have no signs of dandruff.

Soak Fenugreek seeds in Coconut Milk for 2 hours. Grind it to paste and apply to hair scalp and ends. Leave this hair pack for an hour till it dries and wash it away. Washing might be messy because the fenugreek seeds tend to stick to your hair.
The procedure followed once a week improves hair growth with huge hair volume and says goodbye for split ends.

I agree these tips are easy to list out. You will hardly find time to prepare the coconut milk and all the long procedures , even if you have plenty of time lazy ones like me prefer lying down instead of preparing these hair and face packs.  We feel rushing to a beauty store or even shopping online is 1000 times more easier.
But whichever the product you buy and whatever “natural” it claims, it will never be as hygiene and effective as the Home made ones.  Attend half an hour for yourself in a day or at least during weekends. These tips are true in increasing your beauty.
