Vermicelli Kheer Pie Recipe

Vermicelli kheer pie or payasa is an Indian dessert food. It is cooked in every happy occasions like festivals or family gatherings. Vermicelli kheer dessert is an easy recipe with a very little ingredients and short time for preparation.


Vermicelli Kheer Pie


There are different ways of cooking this pie, I have listed 3 different ways of my cooking knowledge.


Recipe 1:

This is the easiest kheer recipe. It hardly takes 10 minutes of time. You can prepare this kheer recipe with a short time when you have a surprise guest.

Ingredients:

One bowl full of MTR vermicelli or kheer
half litre milk
Half bowl sugar
Cashews
ghee


Vermicelli Kheer Pie

Procedure:

Take a deep pan and heat in low flame. Add two spoons of ghee and fry the kheer/ vermicelli till golden brown. Keep them aside to cool down. Till then to the same pan add cashews and roast them.

In a deep clean vessel add milk, fried kheer and sugar. Keep on stirring till the milk and kheer boils. Let it boil in low flame.

Switch off when the kheer gets thick and softened.  Garnish with roasted cashews and serve hot.

Recipe 2:

Ingredients:

One bowl full of MTR Kheer
half liter fat milk
sugar
cashews
almond powder
cardamom powder
Ghee


Vermicelli Kheer Pie

Procedure:

Roast kheer and cashews separately and keep aside.

In a vessel add fat milk and let it boil in lower flame. Once the milk is boiled add sugar , almond powder and cardamom powder  and boil for  10 more minutes by continuous stirring. This makes the milk thick like the khova .

To this thickened creamy khova milk add kheer and allow it boil. It takes quite time to boil kheer as the milk is thick.

Once the kheer is boiled, garnish with cashews and allow it to cool.

This kheer recipe takes a bit of time but tastes the best and is a rich food.

Recipe 3:

Ingredients:

One bowl full of MTR kheer
half liter fat milk
sugar
cashews
almond powder
cardamom powder
Ghee

Vermicelli Kheer Pie

Procedure:

Roast the vermicelli and nuts to golden brown
.
Now in a deep vessel add half cup of water. Let the roasted vermicelli boil in water till it softens. Once the vermicelli is boiled add boiled milk to the vessel, sugar , almond and cardamom powder.

Let it boil for 5 minutes to get mixed well.

Add roasted cashews and kheer is ready to be served.

For all the kheer recipes you can add any of favourite nuts and raisins too.  Even saffron can be added while boiling which leaves a wonderful flavour and makes the food tasty and creamy.
